My item is still covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Can I still file a claim with SquareTrade?

If your item is still covered by the manufacturer (typically a year from purchase date) and the issue is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, we’ll ask that you contact them first. That way, you can save your SquareTrade plan for when you really need it – after the manufacturer’s warranty expires.
 
However, if your item was accidentally damaged and your SquareTrade plan covers accidental damage, you should contact SquareTrade regardless of whether the manufacturer’s warranty has expired.
