Troubleshooting tips: Battery won't hold a charge for more than an hour

If your battery on your smartphone won’t hold a charge for more than an hour, try these troubleshooting tips prior to filing a claim:
  • Check where your power is going
On most phones, you can select Battery under the Settings menu (it may be found under Device) to see your battery’s power is going. It may be that something like the brightness level of your display is draining your power quickly. Try adjusting your phone’s settings to see if your battery stays charged longer.
  • Turn off features not being used
Turning off features like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or GPS can help extend your battery’s life.
  • Close unused applications
